Cynthia Ann Crawford was born on February 20, 1966. She is an American model, actress, and television personality. Through the 1990s and the 1980s she was among the most popular supermodels , and an omnipresent presence on magazine covers and runways, as well as fashion advertisements. Later, she ventured into acting and launched a company. Crawford received a phone call during her sophomore year from a local clothing shop about modeling work. But, it turned out to be a joke by two of her peers. The following year, another retailer recruited a variety of high school girls and, in particular Crawford as a model, to be their models (including shooting a fashion show). In her senior year, local photographer Roger Legel, whose duties included photographing a different college girl to be that week's coed for the DeKalb Nite Weekly, asked to photograph Crawford to be published in the magazine.
