Liza Snyder

Snyder was born in Northampton in Massachusetts. The father of her is acting professor of theater and music in Smith College. She has maternal grandparents who were five-time Oscar Award-winning composer Johnny Green, and the actress and consumer reporter, Betty Furness. Snyder was a graduate of the New York's Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre where she learned acting under the direction from Sanford Meisner. Her career started with the first episodes of dramas for television, like The Trials of Rosie O'Neill as well as Murder, She Wrote. In 1993 she was cast in the role of Molly Whelan in the ABC as well as the later syndicated crime drama Sirens. She was a co-star in two television movies, and also appeared as an actor for Chicago Hope and Pacific Blue in the aftermath of the show's cancellation. She was a regular in The NBC comedy Jesse starring Christina Applegate from 1998-2000. The actress made her big screen debut with a minor role in Pay It Forward produced by Mimi Leder. At the same time, Snyder began to star in the role of Christine Hughes in CBS's sitcom Yes, Dear. The show ended in the year 2006. In the years following, Yes, Dear, Snyder was absent for five years.
